In 2013 I had one truck, one crew, and a simple idea: treat people the way I'd want to be treated on the worst day of a move.
Moving is stressful. People are leaving homes they've lived in for years. They're trusting strangers with everything they own. The last thing they need is a company that's cutting corners, running late, or nickel-and-diming them at the end.
So I built Castle Express around three things: honesty, hard work, and actually caring about the outcome.
What that looks like in practice
Honest estimates. We do a thorough walkthrough before we give you a number. We aim to be within 10% of every estimate. No bait-and-switch, no fuel surcharges tacked on at the end.
Our own crews. Every Castle Express mover is part of our own crew. We don't broker jobs out. The people moving you are experienced professionals who represent our name and have a real stake in doing the job right.
We show up. Sounds basic, but you'd be surprised. We have a 4.9-star Google rating across 200+ reviews because we answer the phone, we arrive when we say we will, and we follow through.
What we've built since 2013
We started with one truck. Today we run a fleet of five trucks out of a 5,000 square foot facility in Enfield, CT. We serve all of Hartford County, Tolland County, and Western Massachusetts. We've moved thousands of families, dozens of businesses, and everything from studio apartments to 5-bedroom houses.
We also developed Princess Packing™ - our white-glove pre-packing service - because we kept hearing from customers who wished their home could be packed before move day without having to coordinate everything themselves. So we built a service around that.
Why I think we're different
There are a lot of moving companies in Connecticut. Most of them are good businesses run by good people. But not all of them have been doing this for 13 years in the same community, with the same crews, under the same name.
When you hire Castle Express, you're hiring a company that's invested in its reputation here. We're not going anywhere. We'll still be in Enfield next year, and the year after that, and if you need to move again in five years, we want to be the first call you make.
That's the goal. That's always been the goal.
